Jyotirmath is located in Badrinath of Uttaranchal. Here, after the names of the sannyasis who took initiation, the adjective ‘Giri’, ‘Parvat’ and ‘Sagar’ sect name is applied. Acharya Totak, the first abbot of Jyotirmath, was made Mahavakya of the Math – ‘Ayamatma Brahma’
Math Veda – Atharvaveda
Current Shankaracharya – Swami Vasudevananda Saraswati. However, there was also a dispute regarding the post of Shankaracharya.
