The seventh incarnation of Lord Shankar is Grihapati. According to the legend, a sage named Vishwanar and his wife Shuchishmati lived in a town called Dharampur on the banks of the Narmada. Shuchishmati, after being childless for a long time, one day wished her husband to have a son like Shiva. Lord Shankar granted him a boon to take incarnation from the womb of Shuchishmati. Later, Shuchishmati became pregnant and Lord Shankar appeared in the form of a son from the womb of Shuchishmati.
