Kirat Avatar
According to Mahabharata, when Arjuna was doing penance to please Lord Shankar during his exile, a demon named Mood, sent by Duryodhana, reached there in the form of Shukar (pig) to kill Arjuna. Arjuna attacked the boar with his arrow, at the same time Lord Shankar also dressed as a Kirat and shot an arrow at the same pig.
Arjuna could not recognize him because of Shiva's illusion and started saying that the boar was killed by his arrow. There was a dispute between the two on this. Arjuna fought with Shiva dressed in Kirat. Lord Shiva was pleased to see Arjuna's valor and came in his true form and blessed Arjuna with victory over the Kauravas.
