4. Mauli protects
On tying Rakhi or Mauli in the wrist, they do Kalava or Upa-manibandh. There are 3 lines in the root of the hand which are called Manibandh. The origin of fate and lifeline is also the bracelet itself. These three lines have the power to give and release the threefold heats like physical, divine and physical. That is why it is tied to the wrist. It is such a belief in the scriptures that by tying Mauli, one gets the blessings of the three gods – Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh and the three goddesses – Lakshmi, Parvati and Saraswati.
