Fasting Rules :
1. Only green moong should be consumed in fasting during pradosh period, as green moong is the earthelement and keeps the mandagni calm.
2. Do not eat red chillies, food, rice and plain salt in pradosh vrat. However, you can also fast completely or have fruits.

3. Get up before sunrise on the day of fasting. Dressed in white after dealing with routine. Clean and purify the puja house. Prepare the mandapa by smearing it with cow dung.
4. Make rangoli using 5 different colours under this mandapa. Then sit facing north-east and worship Shivaji. Do not take any other eclipse throughout the day.
