3. Chant Shiva Mantra

Chant the mantras of Shiva as much as possible in the month of Sawan. This also gives the blessings of Mahadev and Mother Parvati. You can chant the Panchakshara mantra of Shiva, Om Namah Shivaya. It is considered to be the best mantra. There are five letters in this mantra by removing Om, hence it is called Panchakshara Mantra. Apart from this, you can also recite Panchakshara Stotra, Rudrashtak, Lingashtak, or Shiva Sahasranama. It is believed that the chanting of Shiva Mantras in Sawan gives desired results. It is said that praying to Lord Shiva liberates us from the three Gunas - sattva, rajas, tamas,(qualities of our mental form) that bind life, which was symbolized by the trident in his hand. Another symbolism of this is that the trident represents the past, present, and future.
