Significance of Falgun Purnima
The last full moon is considered to be Falgun Purnima, the day on which the festival of Holika Dahan and Holi is celebrated. On this auspicious day, at different places, people worship Lakshmi and also celebrate Lakshmi Jayanti, which is the birth anniversary of Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of abundance and wealth. According to Hindu beliefs, those who observe the fast of Falgun Purnima and worship Lord Vishnu and Lord Moon on this day are honored with the divine blessings of the deity and also get rid of their present and past sins.
