Mata Shailputri is Goddess Sati, who first married Lord Shiva. She burned herself due to the disrespect of her and her husband by her father Prajapati Daksha. After her sacrifice, she was again born in the mountains of the Himalayas.
Mata Shailputri is the first form of Goddess Durga, and she is worshipped on the first day of Navaratri. According to Hindu mythology, Mata Shailputri is the daughter of the Himalayas, also known as Parvati or Hemavati. She is depicted riding a bull and carrying a trident and a lotus.
How to worship Maa Shailputri:
To worship Mata Shailputri, devotees wake up early, take a bath, and wear white clean clothes. They then offer flowers, dhoop (incense), deep (lamp), and naivedya (food offering) to the Goddess. And recite her mantra, stuti, and bhajan.
