Shiva Tandava Stotra is also known as Ravana Tandava Stotra because this stotra has been composed by Ravana. In this stotra, Ravana has sung the praise of Lord Shiva from 17 verses. Once when Ravana tried to lift Kailash out of ego, Lord Shiva stabilized the mountain by pressing his thumb. Due to which the hand of Ravana got buried under the mountain.

Method of Shiva Tandav Stotra-
Shiv Tandav Stotra should be recited in the morning or in the Pradosh period. 
First of all, after taking bath, wear clean clothes.
Salute Lord Shiva and worship him with incense, lamp, and naivedya.
Ravana sang this stotra in a very loud voice due to pain. Therefore recite Shiva Tandav Stotra by singing it. 
It is considered best to recite it with dance. But only men should perform the Tandava dance.
