Puja Ritual for Maa Kushmanda

According to sacred texts, Maa Kushmanda resides in the solar realm, and her radiance is like that of the sun. Her light illuminates everything around her and dispels darkness from the lives of her devotees. Here is how to worship Maa Kushmanda on the fourth day of Navratri.

Maa Kushmanda has eight arms who hold a water pot, a bow and arrow, a lotus, a pot filled with nectar, a chakra, a gada, and a rosary in her hands. Along with this, she rides a lion. 
To receive the blessings of the Goddess, follow the given steps below:

  • Wake up before sunrise, 

  • Take a bath, and wear clean clothes. 

  • While remembering Maa Kushmanda, offer incense, sandalwood paste, rice, flowers, fruits, and sweets, along with other puja items. 

  • After this, perform the aarti and chant mantras to seek her blessings.


Maa Kushmanda's Favourite Offerings

Devotees can offer Goddess Kushmanda's favourite prasad during the puja. It is believed that offering these prasads brings desired results. Here are some of Maa Kushmanda's preferred offerings:

  • Malpua (sweet pancake)
  • Curd
  • Halwa


While presenting these offerings to the Goddess, you can chant the following mantras:

  • Om Devi Kushmandayai Namah
  • Om Hreem Kleem Kushmandayai Namah
