Hindu traditions calculate dates based on the Udaya Tithi (the date prevailing at sunrise), so for the year 2024, the festival is considered to start on October 3. This year, there is a special conjunction of the Hasta and Chitra Nakshatras during the nine days of Navratri. Navratri will run from October 3 to October 11, and Dussehra (Vijayadashami) will be celebrated on October 12.
Ghatasthapana Auspicious Timing - Shardiya Navratri 2024
According to the Panchang (Hindu calendar), the auspicious time for Ghatasthapana (installation of the sacred pot) on the occasion of Shardiya Navratri will be from 6:15 AM to 7:22 AM on October 3. Additionally, the Abhijit Muhurat will be from 11:46 AM to 12:33 PM. Devotees can perform the installation of the pot or worship during either of these times.
