Devotees must know that the word Pradosh means evening, i.e. the time of meeting of day and night (twilight), hence during this holy hour, special worship of Lord Shiva is done. Additionally, as this fast depends on the positioning of the moon, its date and time keeps on changing twice every month.

Pradosh Vrat September 2024: Auspicious time (Muhurat)

The Pradosh Vrat for this month of September will be observed on September 29 (Sunday), also termed as "Ravi Pradosh Vrat", as it is falling on sunday. Devotees must note that the Trayodashi Tithi starts at 4:47 PM on September 29 and ends at 7:06 PM on Monday, September 30.

It is important to note that the Bhadra period starts on September 30 at 7:06 PM and lasts until 6:14 AM on October 1. According to religious beliefs, auspicious activities should not be performed during the Bhadra period. Therefore, the Pradosh Vrat puja should be completed before the Bhadra period begins.
