Ganesh Chaturthi 2024: Ganesh Chaturthi is a festival of devotion and celebration. Choosing the Right Idol:
Trunk: The trunk of the idol should curve to the left.
Pose: A seated pose is considered auspicious, symbolizing prosperity.
Expression: The idol should have a cheerful expression, often with one hand in a blessing gesture and the other holding a modak.

Silver: Brings fame and reputation.
Wood (Mango, Peepal, Neem): Invites positive energy and good fortune.
Brass: Promotes happiness, prosperity, and joy.
Wood: Indicates good health and long life.
Crystal: Removes negative energies and brings auspiciousness.
Copper: Especially auspicious for newlyweds.
Cow dung: Symbolizes good fortune.

Installation Procedure:
Direction: The idol should be placed in the northeast corner (Ishanya Kon) facing north.
Preparation: Clean the idol thoroughly and sprinkle it with Ganges water.
Altar: Create a decorated altar with flowers, rangoli, and a lamp. Place a kalash (pot) filled with Ganges water, roli, rice, coins, and a mango leaf.
Rituals: Bathe the idol with Ganges water, offer incense, lamp, and food, and chant Ganesha stotras. Decorate the idol with flowers, apply sandalwood paste, and seek blessings.

Placement of Riddhi and Siddhi: Place symbols representing prosperity and perfection (often depicted as females) near the idol.

Kalash: Keep a kalash filled with water near the idol.
