Vinayak Chaturthi is observed on the Chaturthi Tithi of the Shukla Paksha of the month of Kartik. This day is dedicated to Lord Ganesh, who is the remover of obstacles. To seek his blessings, devotees perform special rituals and observe fasts.
It is also believed that worshipping Lord Ganesha with proper rituals on this day removes hurdles from life and brings happiness, peace, and prosperity.
Date and Auspicious Muhurat
This year, Chaturthi Tithi will begin from 25th October at 1:19 AM and end on 26th October at 3:48 AM. Therefore, Kartik Vinayak Chaturthi will be celebrated on 25th October 2025. The auspicious time for worshipping will be from 10:58 AM to 1:12 PM.
Worshipping during this muhurat is considered favourable for Vinayak Chaturthi Puja.
Vinayak Chaturthi Puja Rituals
The one who's observing fast on Vinayak Chaturthi will have to wake up in the Brahma Muhurat and take bath. Clean the Puja area (Temple) and put a cloth on a wooden platform with an idol or picture of Lord Ganesha.
Offer flowers, incense, a diya, akshat, durva grass, laddoos, and fruits to Lord Ganesha. Light a diya and recite the Ganesh Aarti, Ganesh Chalisa, or other hymns dedicated to him. In the end, ask for forgiveness of mistakes and worship by praying for prosperity, wisdom, and the removal of all obstacles. Distribute the offerings of laddoos or sweets as prasad.
