This year the festival of Kartik Amavasya will be celebrated on Friday, November 1. According to the Panchang, Kartik Amavasya Tithi will start on October 31 at 3:52 pm and will last till 6:16 pm on November 1. In such a situation, according to the Udaya date, the process of bathing and donation of Kartik Amavasya will be done on November 1. On the day of Kartik Amavasya, Brahma Muhurta is from 4:48 am to 5:40 am and bathing should be done in this Muhurta only. But if you are unable to bathe in Brahma Muhurta, then you can also bathe during Preeti Yoga after sunrise. Donations should be made after bathing. You can donate items related to the Sun God like copper lota, copper coins, marigold flowers, etc. Apart from this, you can also donate warm clothes, blankets, food, money, etc. The most auspicious time of this day i.e. Abhijit Muhurta is from 11:39 am to 12:23 pm. Importance of Kartik Amavasya (Kartik Amavasya Mahatva)
