In 2024, Anant Chaturdashi will begin on September 16 at 3:11 PM and end on September 17 at 11:45 AM. Auspicious Timing for Anant Chaturdashi Puja

The auspicious time for performing puja on Anant Chaturdashi is during the Labh Choghadiya period, which will be from 10:43 AM to 12:15 PM. Performing puja during this time is considered highly beneficial.

Anant Chaturdashi Puja Procedure

  1. Bath and Sankalp: On the day of Anant Chaturdashi, take a bath before sunrise and make a vow (sankalp) to observe the fast.

  2. Selection of Puja Venue: Ideally, the puja should be performed near a sacred river or lake. If this is not possible, you can perform the rituals at your home temple.

  3. Installation of Deity: Place the idol of Lord Vishnu reclining on the serpent (Sheshnag) for the puja.

  4. Ritual of the Sacred Thread (Dora): Take a thread (dora) and tie 14 knots in it. Place this thread near the deity's idol while chanting the mantra “Om Anantaya Namah.” Men should wear the thread on their right wrist and women on their left wrist.

  5. Story Recitation and Puja: Recite the story of Anant Chaturdashi, as it is essential for the complete fulfillment of the vow. Perform the puja of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi according to the prescribed rituals. Conclude with an Aarti.

  6. Feeding Brahmins: After the puja, feed Brahmins and then share the prasadam (sacred food) with your family.

Auspicious Timing for Ganesh Visarjan:

According to the Hindu Vedic Panchang, the auspicious time for Ganesh Visarjan (immersion) is from 9:23 AM to 9:28 PM. It is believed that performing the immersion during this time brings auspicious results.

Procedure for Visarjan:

To perform Ganesh Visarjan, first prepare a wooden seat. Draw a swastika on it and sprinkle some holy water. Spread a yellow cloth over the seat, place the Ganesh idol on it, dress the idol in new clothes, and apply kumkum for the tilak. Place some rice grains (akshat) on the seat and offer flowers, fruits, and modaks as offerings to the Ganesh idol. Before performing the immersion, conduct a proper worship of Ganesh Ji and pray for his return. Then, conduct the Aarti with your family. Afterward, perform the immersion of the Ganesh idol according to the proper ritual, seek forgiveness for any mistakes, and pray for Ganesh Ji to return next year.

Observing the Anant Chaturdashi fast and performing the puja with sincerity is believed to fulfill all your desires and bring peace and happiness into your life. This day provides a significant opportunity to receive the blessings of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Parvati.
