According to the calendar, Ekadashi is considered an auspicious day that is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Ekadashi is celebrated twice in a month, which means 11 and falls on the 11th day of the Shukla Paksha and the Krishna Paksha in every month.
It is believed that fasting and worshipping on this day brings Lord Vishnu's blessings in one's life. The connection of Ekadashi is linked with ancient myths and devotion to Lord Vishnu, as it is the time for self-reflection, worshipping and seeking blessings from God.
Devutthana Ekadashi 2025
Devuthani Ekadasi is also known as Prabodhini Ekadashi, which comes every year on the 11th day of the Shukla Paksha of the month of Kartik. It is believed that on this day, Lord Vishnu awakens from his sleep (Yoganidra) after four months, and it marks the end of Chaturmas. After the Chaturmas, events like weddings, engagements or other auspicious events also take place, as during the Chaturmas, such auspicious events may not happen.
On this day, devotees observe a fast and worship, which makes one free from all sins and past mistakes. Worshipping Lord Vishnu with devotion and dedication is believed to bring spiritual purification, reduce negative, and any work that has been stuck gets completed.
Date and Auspicious Muhurat
According to the calendar, the Ekadashi tithi will begin from 1st November at 09:11 AM and end on 2nd November at 07:31 2025. Therefore, Devuthani Ekadashi will be celebrated on 1st November 2025. The Parna timing (breaking fast) is from 01:11 PM to 03:23 PM on 2nd November 2025.
