The journey of Char Dham of Uttarakhand, associated with the faith and belief of Hinduism, will begin this year from Akshaya Tritiya i.e. 22 April 2023. In the Sanatan tradition, this auspicious date has been considered very auspicious because any religious worship or ritual done on this day does not get destroyed.
According to Hindu belief, Tretayuga started from this day and Lord Parshuram was born. The Char Dham Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham, which are visited these days, have been considered to have great religious importance. Because once upon a time, Adi Shankaracharya had worshipped at these holy places.
This Char Dham Yatra, associated with the four major pilgrimage centres of the state of Uttarakhand, is also known as the Chhota Char Dham Yatra. In the Chardham Yatra, the devotees walk from west to east i.e. from Yamunotri to Gangotri, Kedarnath and finally complete their journey by reaching Badrinath. When will the doors of Gangotri-Yamunotri open?
Out of the Char Dham located in Uttarakhand, the doors of two major Dhams i.e. Gangotri and Yamunotri will open on Akshaya Tritiya i.e. 22 April 2022. Gangotri, located in the Himalayas, is the place from where the most sacred river Ganges originates. According to Hindu belief, Gangotri is the same place where the mother Ganga once descended from heaven.
At present, the river Ganga, which is considered the most sacred river, emerges from here and flows through the plains and joins the Bay of Bengal. In Hinduism, there are many big pilgrimages like Haridwar and Prayagraj on the banks of the river Ganga, where the Kumbh of faith takes place every 6 and 12 years. On the other hand, Yamuna, the main tributary of Ganga, originates from Yamunotri, which passes through the plains and joins Ganga at the confluence of Prayagraj.
When will the doors of Kedarnath Open?
The doors of Kedarnath Dham, the eleventh Jyotirlinga of Mahadev, the God of Gods, will be opened this year on April 25, 2023, in the morning of Aries. As soon as the doors of Baba Kedarnath open, the devotees of Bhole will be able to see and worship him. The worship program for opening the doors of Kedarnath Dham will start on April 21, 2023, and Baba's doli will reach Kedarnath a day earlier after walking from Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath.
On which day the doors of Badrinath will be opened:
The doors of Lord Badrinath, one of the famous temples of Lord Vishnu, will open on 27 April 2023 this year. According to Pankaj Dimri, the priest of Lord Badrinath, the Gadughada Kalash Yatra has started from the Maharaj of Tehri Garhwal and today it will reach Srinagar.
After this, two days before the opening of the doors, the priests will reach the Dham with the palanquin of Badrinath and on April 27, 2023, the doors of the temple will be opened in the Brahma Muhurta. After which common pilgrims will be able to see and worship Lord Badrinath.
