- The holy festival of Baisakhi is celebrated every year in the month of Vaishakh when the Sun transits in Aries. This is the reason why this holy festival is also called the festival of Aries Sankranti.

According to astrology, all Hindi months have been named after constellations. The month of Vaishakh is also named after the constellation named Vishakha. It is believed that Vishakha Nakshatra appears in the sky on the day of Baisakhi.
