This year Ashwin Shukla Paksha is starting from 03 October 2024. Ashwin Shukla Paksha will run till 17th October. Ashwin month is considered to be the seventh month of the Hindu calendar. The ashwin month starts with Krishna Paksha which is called Pitru Paksha and after this Navratri starts from Ashwin Shukla Paksha and festivals like Dussehra, Purnima, etc. will be celebrated. This year Ashwin month started on 18th September and will continue till 17th October.
Features of Ashwin Month
Ashwin month is considered to be the seventh month of the Hindu calendar. Ashwin month starts with Pitru Paksha and after this Navratri and Dussehra festivals will be celebrated. Navratri falling in Ashwin month is called Sharadiya Navratri. 15 days have also been considered special for the worship of ancestors in Ashwin, which are called Pitru Paksha. Ashwini Nakshatra occurs on the full moon day of this month, hence it is known as Ashwin month. 8 October 2024- Skanda Shashthi will be celebrated
9 October 2024- Kalparambh will be done
10 October 2024- Navpatrika Puja will be done
11 October 2024- Durga Mahanavami Puja, Durga Mahaashtami, Sandhi Puja Monthly Durgashtami will be celebrated
12 October 2024- Dussehra, Sharadiya Navratri ends, Durga Visarjan, Buddha Jayanti will be done
13 October 2024- Papankusha Ekadashi, Padmanabha Dwadashi will be celebrated
14 October 2024- Vaishnav Papankusha Ekadashi will be celebrated
15 October 2024- Pradosh Vrat will be observed
16 October 2024- Kojagar Puja, Sharad Purnima will be observed
17 October 2024- Ashwin Purnima Vrat, Tula Sankranti, Valmiki Jayanti, and Mirabai Jayanti will be observed
